George Pisa
House of PISA
Family owned and run, George Pisa & Zn. Tailleurs or George Pisa was first established in 1927 by George - a tailor known for his precise measurements and attention to detail. Since its founding year, each generation has adapted to the changing needs of the clothing industry - with son Leo focussing on uniforms - fulfilling huge orders for the Eindhoven Police Force, Dutch and Belgian Army. Today, George Pisa is commissioned by royalty - including the King of The Netherlands. Like our Italian or French tailoring contemporaries - the heritage of George Pisa is vast, rich and originated from humble beginnings. While we may be housing skills that rival accredited couturiers, our roots remain boutique - serving our clients with bespoke ceremonial garments and uniforms fit for a king.

The Atelier
Our Eindhoven atelier sits amongst world renowned textile and electronic innovation and is located between The Netherlands, Belgium and German borders - helping us aim for carbon neutrality with our current logistics.

Ceremonial
With tailoring overseen by the palace, these heavily embellished garments require a highly skilled hand to understand cord work and the application of gold aiguillettes.

Gilde & Military
Dating back to 1930’s, these designs speak of years of cultural history, religious and political reign. Detailing and fabric choice is distinctive and tells the story of everything from spilled wine to solemn processions to altars of old. One mistake can erase years of history.

Marching Bands
Once a morale booster that joined feudal armies, marching bands played music to direct troops on the battlefield. Techniques crafted in the garments today help signify ranks and support instrument playing. A fine mix of practical and historical design is employed.

Graduation Gowns
From professors to university graduates, gowns are created with meticulous attention to detail - from distinctive material mixes of velvet and cord-use to pressing the garment for final presentation.

Who Made My Clothes?
As much as we are a family owned business, we are also family oriented in our thinking. Some of our atelier craftspeople have been with us their entire working lives, with their skills and tailoring knowledge unmatched by any machine. We take pride and reward all people at George Pisa with a living, working wage and are in support of the Who Made My Clothes movement. We believe everyone in the garment industry needs to be protected by a fairer, safer, more transparent industry and this has been part of our company ethos since its inception.

The Future of Tailoring
The art of bespoke tailoring is slowly returning to the clothing industry with body positivity and gender neutral design being more considered. George Pisa sees this industry shift as placing value in quality hand craftsmanship, married with technology. George Pisa continually revises its processes and production methods in order to produce minimal waste and maximum cost effectiveness. Investing in computer aided design technology (or CAD) to accompany hand craftsmanship is how we can maintain our place in an industry that is slowly embracing diversity and personalisation once again.
